Debbie & Deborah

Spring came around on Saturday announcing the beginning of the Stoop Sale season in Jersey City. First out of the gate: Debbie & Deborah on Christopher Columbus. Debbie was moving into NYC after seven years in J.C. because she found a cheaper rent (I wasn’t sure if I heard that right—Manhattan rents cheaper than Downtown—because a pig was flying overhead and on the horizon the first of the seven seals was being opened). Amongst the used house ware items and CDs for sale was a bag full of fancy dog collars, advertised on the sign as Puppy Dog Bling. Part of the fun, I’ve been told, of the stoop sale is that you get to meet and talk with folks in the neighborhood. Deborah was hanging out with her friend Debbie, who was helping to move the merchandise. I forgot to ask the name of the canine.
